The Mountain Lion update also contains the improvements included in MacBook Air (Mid 2013) Software Update 1.0Īlong with the OS X 10.8.5 update, Apple has released security updates for OS X Snow Leopard and Lion that are a few-hundred MB in size. The update brings more improvements to reliability on Xsan, when transferring large files over the Ethernet, performance when authenticating to an Open Directory server and addresses an issue that prevented a smart card from unlocking preference panes in System Preferences. Apple has also resolved an issue that may have prevented a screen saver from starting automatically. There’s also a fix for improving AP file transfer performance over 802.11ac Wi-Fi. One of the most important improvement the update brings along is that it fixes an issue that may have prevented Mail from displaying messages.
